Tenmile Canal Weeds

Tenmile Lake Association has gotten DSL approval to treat the invasive weeds in the Canal between North and South Lake. There will be a herbicide sprayed that affects invasive lilies then later mechanical pulling of Brazilian weed will be done by a mechanical harvester. This will be done by a licensed company experience in this process. This will help navigation especially in low water and reduce organic debris adding to the lack of depth in the canal. The canal will need to be closed for about 4 hours in the morning to keep from washing the herbicide off the lilies by waves. There is no danger to fish, wildlife or swimming. The expected date is August 7.
