A Lakeside Story: Why I Joined the Tenmile Lakes Association
I still remember the first time I dipped my paddle into Tenmile Lakes. The water was calm, the sun was warm, and the reflection of the pines stretched endlessly across the surface. It wasn’t just a lake—it felt like a living memory, a place where generations had come to fish, swim, and gather.
Growing up near Lakeside, Oregon, I learned that Tenmile Lakes is more than a backdrop for summer fun. It’s the heartbeat of our town. Families build traditions here, kids learn to swim here, and neighbors connect over shared sunsets. But as I got older, I realized something important: if we don’t take care of this place, those traditions could fade.
That’s why I joined the Tenmile Lakes Association (TLA). Their mission is to preserve, protect, and promote Tenmile Lakes and Lakeside—and that’s exactly what our community needs.
🌱 Why It Matters to Me
I want my grandkids to catch their first fish in clean, healthy waters.
I want future generations to know the joy of boating across Tenmile without worrying about pollution.
I want Lakeside to thrive as a welcoming town where nature and community go hand in hand.
💙 Why You Should Join Too
Every member strengthens the effort. Whether you’re a weekend visitor, a lifelong resident, or someone who simply loves the lakes, your voice matters. Together, we can:
Protect water quality and wildlife habitats.

🌟 A Call From the Heart
Tenmile Lakes gave me countless memories—quiet mornings on the dock, laughter echoing across the water, and friendships built around shared love for this place. Joining the Tenmile Lakes Association is my way of giving back.
